Aram

Aram was the son of Shem, according to the Table of nations of Genesis 10 in the Hebrew Bible. Aram was the ancestor of the Arameans (known in earliest times as Aram-Naharaim, or Hurrians) who spoke Aramaic and were centered on the Balikh river in northwestern Mesopotamia (modern Syria).
