These "gods" are NOT to be worshiped, and may in fact be demons.

• "You shall have no other gods before me." (Exodus 20:3).

• "What am I saying then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? But I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God, and I don't desire that you would have fellowship with demons." (1 Corinithians 10:19-20)

The worship of many of these Gods led the ancient Israelites astray, leading to divine wrath through the nations of Assyria, Babylonia and others.
