Deceived is written by Jerry B. Jenkins and Timothy LaHaye. It holds titles 29-31 in the Left Behind:The Kids series which tells about the Rapture, and the seven years that follow. It is book nine of the 12 book series. In this novel, Nicolae Carpathia, the Antichrist, devises a sinister plan to make everyone receive a mark on their hand or forehead, showing their loyalty to him. After his resurrection, many had been put under his spell. So when the time came to take the mark, many were excited. But the Christians knew all along that they had to stay away from the mark at all costs. They knew that Carpathia's mark was actually the dreaded Mark of the Beast predicted in the Bible. If someone takes the mark, it seals their fate forever. Unfortunately, whoever refuses the mark will die from the L.E.F. (Law Enforcement Facilitator) or better known as the Guillotine.
Judd Thompson Jr. and Lionel Washington are longing to get back to Wisconsin and see their friends again, but with the new orders Carpathia has made, it is almost impossible to get out of Jerusalem. After Carpathia shows another horrific display of terror, the Christians in Jerusalem prepare to travel to Petra, where they will hopefully be safe from the Antichrist.
Back in Wisconsin, Vicki Byrne and the other kids show their bravery while being in many close calls with the GC. After their friend is killed by the Guillotine, her roommate, Claudia, emailed the kids and said she wanted to learn more about being a Christian.
