In the Episcopalian Church, the diocese of Missouri composes the eastern half of the state from about Jefferson City and Columbia to St. Louis. Currently, the diocese is under its tenth bishop, The Rt. Rev. G. Wayne Smith, who was concecrated in March 2002. The diocese has 47 congregations (33 parishes and 14 missions) and 14,000 baptized members.
