An Incumbent Minister has pastoral charge of a Benefice and may be titled Rector or Vicar precise practice varies across the Anglican Communion. In England Incumbents are apppointed by Patrons. Where the parish has been suspended under the Pastoral Measure, the Incumbent will be referred to as the Priest-in-Charge.
