Obed

Obed is the name of two people mentioned in the Old Testament

The more famous Obed was the son of Boaz and Ruth, father of Jesse and the grandfather of David. This Obed was a descendant of Aram son of Hezron.

The other Obed, son of Ephlal and father of Jehu, is mentioned in 1 Chronicles 2:37-28 as a descendant of "Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron." (1 Chronicles 2:25). Both Obeds were of the Tribe of Judah and the clan of Perez.
