Rashi, also known as Rabbi Shlomo Yitzchak or (Rabbi Shlomo Yarchi) (February 22, 1040–July 13, 1105), was a medieval Jewish author of the first comprehensive commentaries on the Talmud and Tanakh (Old Testament).
